What is the difference between the Sun Partner Advantage Program Member level and the Program Partner level? |

The Program Member level allows for simple registration for development companies to learn more about Sun before committing as a Program Partner.
Companies that are already developing or already have products and/or services available on Sun technologies may apply as Program Partners. All partners gain access to all the tools and resources necessary for them to create, market, and deliver their solutions on Sun.

Can other partner types join the Sun Partner Advantage Program, for ISVs? |

A. |
Yes. Sun recognizes that many other partner types actually create and sell commercially available products, including IHVs, OEMs, and SIs. Any company that meets the requirements to become a Partner in the program (Associate or Principal) can take advantage of the offerings in the Sun Partner Advantage Program, for Independent Software Vendors. How do I find out what the eligibility requirements are for membership in the Sun Partner Advantage Program? |

The Program offers three levels of membership; find out more about the eligibility requirements.

How long does it take to process my application? |

A. |
The processing time varies by country and type of benefits. You will receive an e-mail notification at the time your application is submitted. Normal processing time is three to five business days. In some cases, it may take up to 10 business days.

What is the difference in benefits between Program Member and Program Partner? |

The Program Members have access to the Sun Partner Advantage Program Membership Center where they can take advantage of benefits such as free Developer Support and Engineering Webcasts from Sun's top experts. The Member level allows for simple registration for development companies to learn more about Sun before committing as a Program Partner.
Program Partners have access to the full complement of offerings available through the Program. These benefits may include information on Sun's latest initiatives, products and services as well as access to free and discounted development hardware. Sun Partners also have access to certification and training, and co-marketing and sales opportunities.

How much does it cost to join the Program? |

Membership in the Program is free. The Program consists of various free and fee-based offerings and services.

| Primary Contact vs. Additional Contact |

What is a Primary Contact? |

A. |
A Primary Contact is a company's main contact for the Program. The Primary Contact has the ability to apply for offerings, and manage product data for their company, including adding new products and/or modifying existing products.

What is an Additional Contact? |

A. |
An additional contact is another contact within a company other than the Primary Contact. A company may have multiple Additional Contacts.

What is the role of the Additional Contact? |

A. |
Additional contacts may be eligible to apply for offerings and levels of membership as applicable, to add new products and/or modify existing products, and to complete the membership review. To become eligible to participate in this role, an Additional Contact must agree to be contacted by Sun regarding the Sun Partner Advantage Program and also agree to be contacted from within their company regarding any modifications made to products they manage.

What is the role of a Product Manager? |

The Product Manager, which could be a Primary Contact or a company's Additional Contact, is essentially the product owner. When contacts within a company add products, they will automatically be assigned the Product Manager role for those products.

What is the Membership Review? |

On an annual basis, Partners not in compliance with the Program's product requirements will be notified to review and update their membership information. Partners that meet the Program requirements will not be required to complete the membership review.

What is the difference between the previous Annual Review and the new Membership Review? |
| |
| |
A. |
Annual review required all Partners complete the process regardless of whether or not they met the Program requirements. Today, the Membership Review only requires that Partners not in compliance with the Program's product requirements complete the review. Partners in compliance are no longer required to complete the review and will continue to have access to their Program benefits.

When will I be notified to complete the Membership Review? |

An email notice will be sent to the Primary and all Additional Contacts 30 days prior to the membership review due date requesting Partners to complete the membership review process.

What happens if I do not complete the Membership Review? |
| |
| |
A. |
If the membership review is not completed by the review due date, your company's membership will be suspended resulting in a loss of Program benefits. Your company will receive a notice regarding the suspension. You can re-activate the Program at any time by completing your membership review. If assistance is required to complete this process, please contact a Sun Partner Advantage Program Contact Center in your region.
