Mobile Partner Initiative

The Mobile Partner Initiative unleashes the resources needed to create applications based on the Sun Java Platform, Micro Edition (Java ME). The Java ME platform is the most pervasive mobile technology across the globe, and is deployed by over 180 operators worldwide on over 1.5 Billion handsets.

Mobile Content and Services Independent Software Vendors that join the Mobile Partner Initiative will leverage Sun's Java ME platform expertise and community leadership to:

• Reduce the time and cost related to getting applications to market
• Maximize their reach to a broader subscriber base
• Better utilize the Java platform to create differentiated and compelling applications

Benefits

The Mobile Partner Initiative extends our commitment to Mobile partners by enriching their development lifecycle with a breadth of new technical and marketing resources, supporting all stages of the development process with resources such as:

• Access to the latest business and technical updates of the Java ME platform through online resources and communities.
• Invitations to briefings on new technologies, products and services.
• Notifications of upcoming announcements, special events and training related to the Java ME platform.
• Access to technical support. For the first 2 months of the Mobile Partner Initiative, after enrolling a partner can request a single incident support via Sun Developer Expert Assistance.
• When eligible, participation in co-marketing and channel opportunities such as the JavaOne conference, and gain visibility through Sun's web presence.

Eligibility Requirements

In order to be eligible for the Mobile Partner Initiative, your company must meet all of the following requirements:

1. Your company must be a Sun Partner at the Associate level and above.
2. Your company must commit to producing an application based on the Java ME platform in the 12 months following enrollment into the Mobile Partner Initiative.
